ELTON John has revealed that he has been left with limited vision.
The 77-year-old star suffered from a severe eye infection as he shared an emotional update with his fans online.
The Rocketman star took to his Instagram profile to share a serious statement with his 4.9million followers.
He confirmed that he suffered from a severe eye infection over the summer months.
The painful illness has meant that he has been left with ‘limited vision’ in one of his eyes.
Posting a graphic of his essay statement on, Sir Elton wrote: “Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.
“I am healing, but it’s an extremely low process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
The Benny And The Jets star went onto praise his medical team as he paid tribute to the doctors and nurses that took ‘such good care’ of him.
“I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks,” he stated.
Adding: “I have been quietly spending he summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.
“With love and gratitude.”
His famous friends and his fans quickly flooded the comments section as they sent well-wishes to the legendary music star.
Donatella Versace wrote: “Sending you so much love Elton! Feel better soon. Love you,” along with three heart emojis.
Westlife star Brian McFadden commented with a string of four heart emojis.
“Take all the time you need my friend; heal up, rest up,” stated another user.
As someone else gushed: “Awww get well soon Elton!!! Sending you lots of love and positive energy you’ve got this.

This comes after his longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin revealed that his secret new album could be just weeks away.
After fifty years of performances across the world, the Your Song star decided to officially call time on touring.
However, we revealed that instead of putting his feet up on a Gucci sofa, Sir Elton instead decided to start work on brand new music.
The lyricist predicted that fans will love the record, as he appeared at The Other Songs Live event in London.
Bernie revealed: “Elton and I have an album coming out very soon, but I daren’t say anything about it because I’m under strict orders to keep schtum.
“It’s all done and recorded.
“I think it’s quite brilliant and quite contemporary and it will certainly surprise a lot of people and excite a lot of people and hopefully be successful.”
