Serena Williams attended the 2024 US Open championships in Flushing, New York on Sept. 3 wearing a Gucci ensemble featuring flashes of fluorescent yellow — a fitting color scheme for the elite tennis tournament.
Williams took tenniscore to the next level of chic in a white miniskirt and polo crop top. The fitted skirt featured black and yellow trim at the top and bottom while the top featured Gucci’s signature GG Supreme pattern in the same hue of tennis ball yellow.
Williams carried a matching purse from the Italian brand as well, seemingly the Ophidia GG Pouch, which retails for $920. The accessory features the beige GG pattern as well as the brand’s green and red heritage stripes at the center; the bag helped tie the outfit together and further embrace the tennis theme with a bright yellow trim.
Williams completed the all-Gucci, tennis-ready look with the company’s Re-Web sneakers, which Gucci credits as the first style that creative director Sabato De Sarno came up with for the brand. In line with the tennis star’s top and purse, the canvas and leather upper features the beige GG pattern against a white background while the tongue bears the green and red color blocking. Highlights of bright yellow outlined the GG pattern with additional streaks of this hue featured along the sole and near the white laces. In men’s sizing, the shoe retails for $1,150.
While Williams went for an athletic look at the U.S. Open, earlier this year she dressed up in platform peep-toe shoes from Dolce & Gabbana to attend the premiere of “In the Arena” at Tribeca Festival earlier this year. In July, she wore neutral-toned suede pumps with a black dress to attend the Essence Black Women in Business Dinner.
