SHOPPERS hunting for a small-size, bargain-price TV should head to the Amazon website.
Customers are currently flocking to buy the 43-inch LG UT7300 4K television for £249.99, down from £329.99 – it’s become a best-seller.
LG 43-inch UT7300 4K TV,
£249.99 (was £329.99)
Thanks to that hefty 25% discount, Amazon has sent this 43-inch 4K television further into budget-friendly territory.
Small wonder it’s been climbing up Amazon’s list of best-selling televisions.
It wasn’t that long ago (well I’m old enough to remember, anyway) when a 43-inch TV was considered a pretty substantial size.
But this being the era of affordable 50-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch sets, lots of people are probably seeking a bigger telly for their lounge.
Here’s a tip: if you’re short of viewing space, do not go overboard with the size of the TV you buy – you won’t appreciate the image is you have to sit too close to the screen.
(We’ve actually got a complete guide to this in our what size TV to buy explainer).
A 43-inch television makes for a great choice for a secondary TV – think bedrooms or even kitchen countertops.
Regardless of where it’s intended for, the LG UT7300 is an undeniably impressive-looking television for that reduced price tag – and one that’s made by second-most popular television brand in the UK.
Firstly, there’s LG’s webOS streaming platform, which is widely accepted across the industry as one of the best.
This is a slick, easy-to-use headquarters for Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and all the other usual services, channels and apps.
Then there’s the screen. The fact it’s got 4K picture quality isn’t a big deal – not in 2024 – but I’m happy to see it comes with a couple of built-in upscaling functions.
These essentially pimp up that Ultra High Definition image with brighter colours, darker darks and better contrasts.
Indeed, it’s the picture that Amazon shoppers have been raving in their online reviews.
‘The picture quality is top-notch, thanks to the Dimming feature,’ writes one shopper. ‘[It] provides rich blacks and bright whites, making the visuals really stand out.’
‘Superb screen quality, excellent value,’ raves another buyer. ‘It’s easy to forget you’re viewing a regular LED [television], primarily because the screen quality on this LG IS that good.’
It’s got a couple of HDMI ports – enough for anyone into gaming – and has built-in Alexa compatibility.
I don’t want to overstate the merits of the UT7300: it remains a budget television that won’t match higher-end, far pricier options from LG, like this similarly sized model from the OLED Evo range.
But honestly, this feels like a bit of a steal, now it’s £80 cheaper.
Certainly in terms of sheer longevity, I think this could last you a few good years before it starts to look out-of-date.
Rather cheekily, Amazon are charging an extra £150 for a professional to install this for you.
Here’s my advice: read our how to wall mount a TV instead, and do it yourself.

If you’re hunting for a bigger TV, I covered a great Amazon deal on a 55-inch TCL television last month, which has fallen from £369 to £298 – and it’s still on sale.
