Pete Waterman OBE visited Cheshire’s MIX 56 for a chat that will be aired on the station this weekend.
Trains and Tunes is a two-hour special which focuses on Pete’s career, the artists he discovered and how The Hit Factory kept producing hits.
Pete talks about the early days as a DJ, meeting Mike and Matt and working with the likes of Kylie, Rick Astley, Bananarama and Donna Summer.
Mix 56 presenter Paul Smith chatted to him about the music business and also his love of railways and steam engines.
Paul says: “I can’t wait to share our chat. What an amazing man. We spoke for over three hours and Pete also reveals his favourite songs and which artists inspired his career.
“He is still as busy as ever working on a new Steps musical and a new series for Netflix teaming up with his old friend Simon Cowell in search of the next new boyband.
“It’s a nostalgic look back and some of the stories are just fantastic.”
Trains and Tunes will be broadcast on Cheshire’s MIX 56 this Saturday 7th September 10am-noon and will then be available as a listen again for 30 days.
