Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has enjoined the Corps Members deployed to the State to embrace good values to be able to contribute their quota to nation building.
He said they should embrace diligence, patriotism, courtesy and networking during the period of their orientation.
Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende stated this at the official opening/swearing-in-ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course held recently at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State.
The Governor also implored the Corps Members to make the most of the orientation exercise by networking, making new friends, building relationships, accessing mentorship and entrepreneurship under the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) initiative.
In her remarks, the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Baderinwa Yetunde advised the Corps Members to abide by the rules and regulations laid down for them while in the Orientation Camp.
The Lagos State Chief Judge, Hon Kazeem Alogba, represented by Hon Justice Kudirat Abike Jose administered the Oath of Allegiance to the Corp Members.
Meanwhile, the duo of Mr. Austin Obinna and Ms. Esther Mariachi Oguago, members of the previous batch, who positively impacted people through their projects in Ikorodu and Epe respectively, have received the State Award for Excellence and were also gifted the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000.00) each.
