BOY Meets World star Ethan Suplee is completely unrecognisable after losing 21 stone.
The actor, 47, said his wife Brandy Lewis inspired him to shed the weight and embark on his fitness journey.
He now hosts a fitness podcast and regularly works out in the gym[/caption] He said that his goal is to get to 10 per cent body fat[/caption]Ethan, who also starred in The Butterfly Effect and My Name is Earl, had to use weighing scales at a shopping centre because the scales in the doctor’s surgery didn’t go high enough.
He first started struggling with his weight when he was just five years old, where he would binge eat.
By the age of 10 he was put on a diet after weighing more than 14 stone.
As well as struggling with an eating disorder, he also used food, alcohol and drugs to “numb” himself throughout his teenage years.
He regularly shares impressive before and after snaps from his weight loss journey with fans.
In one recent photo he posed topless, flexing his arm muscles in front of the bathroom mirror.
In the comparison photo he was wearing a black suit and baggy blue shirt.
He embarked on his fitness journey in 2002, a year after he met his now-wife.
At the same time he also quit the booze.
Speaking on US TV show People, he said that meeting Brandy was his turning point.
He documented his fitness journey on his American Glutton podcast in 2020 and told US TV show People that his wife was the reason for him shedding the pounds.
“I became, for the first time in my life, kind of interested in the future and having experiences with her,” he said.
“Like spending a day walking around a museum or going on a trip or hiking that I just wasn’t physically able to do.”
In May this year he told Men’s Health that he wanted to “hit 10 percent body fat”, and added that he’s “within reach” of that goal.
He ditched diets and focused on strength training and focused on healthy eating, rather than cutting out food groups.
Ethan admitted that after spending 40 years refusing to take his shirt off in public, he proudly posed for the men’s magazine.
“The shadows haven’t been enhanced. There’s loose skin. There are scars. This is who I am.”
The actor said that the weight loss hasn’t made him happier, but told People: “I just think that achieving something I set out to achieve has given me this volume of happiness that is pretty great.”
