Time is precious and two short weekends to reach the Black Ops 6 level cap of 30 is all we have. There are actually two level caps in play because, during Weekend One of the Beta, you can only max out at Level 20. You need to progress further during Weekend 2 to try and push on to the 30 mark.
There is a reward during both weekends for reaching Level 20, but if you hit 20 before the end of Weekend 1 you will receive a cosmetic you won’t be able to get by getting there on the second weekend. You can read all about Black Ops 6 rewards here, and if you need to know the timing of the Beta weekends and perhaps a little more information too, we also have you covered there
So with limited options to play, time is of the essence if you wish to scoop up everything that is on offer so levelling up quickly is essential in Black Ops 6. Any rewards you gain now will be available for when the game launches in October and you will be able to proudly show off that you were there from the beginning.
If you have played a Call of Duty game before you will know that levelling up can be done by just playing the game. All XP for playing goes towards climbing the ranks, but, obviously enough, certain actions add much more XP to the pot. The more XP you get, the faster you can shoot through the levels. The faster you shoot through the levels, the better upgrades you get, the better upgrades you get all make it quicker to get through the levels. Before you know it you are at the level cap and the cosmetic trinkets are all yours.
Your Kill / Death Ratio is important. You get XP for getting kills but you certainly don’t get it for getting murdered. Try to stay measured and get a few kills under your belt. Don’t just charge blindly around corners into a hail of bullets. Any kind of Scorestreak is a great XP booster. If you shoot a chopper down in one game, try and do it again in the next. It all adds up.
Also while you are dead and respawning time is ticking down where you could be gaining yet more XP.
Some game modes such as Hardpoint and Domination give out XP for securing areas of the map, so if the killing part of your game is weaker than you would like, try and sit in these XP-gaining zones as long as possible and you will soon fly through the ranks at the end of each match.
When the game lands properly we will have daily and weekly challenges which are great ways of progressing. Some challenges are easier than others and fit specific play styles – for example, sniper rifle headshots may not be the way you usually play, but generally, there are challenges for everybody.
Obviously enough, during the Beta, daily challenges are your bread and butter for XP boosts. Pick one off the list and go for it. You may find you accomplish parts of other challenges while you do which is great but try and discipline yourself into picking them off one at a time.
To max out your level during the Beta you need to expect that it is going to be a bit of a grind over the course of the two weekends, so if you have other plans, things might be tough, but if you do have the time to invest then leveling up to 30 is definitely more than achievable in the timeframe we have.
