JEREMY Clarkson has unveiled the surprising reason why he decided to leave The Grand Tour.
The star, 64, has fronted the Prime Video motoring series since 2016, alongside former Top Gear co-stars Richard Hammond and James May.

Writing in The Sunday Times, Jeremy revealed the reason behind the hit show ultimately coming to an end.
He penned: “After 36 years of talking about cars on television, I’m packing it in, because I’m too old and fat to get into the cars that I like and not interested in driving those I don’t.”
His admission comes as the series finale, subtitled “One For The Road”, is set to air on September 13.
It will pay tribute and mark the end of Jeremy, Richard Hammond and James May’s two-decade working relationship.
Filmed in Zimbabwe, Jeremy revealed how the team landed on the final episode’s filming location.
He wrote: “In the end we just went to the end of the alphabet. Zimbabwe.
“We’d always wanted to go but never could in the olden days because the BBC was, and still is, banned.
“Plus, all three of us absolutely love being in Africa.
“Which is why we’ve done specials over the years in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Mauritania.
“It’s our happy place.”
In the build-up to The Grand Tour‘s ending, Prime Video have released a trailer teasing what’s ahead.
Speaking to the camera, Richard appears to well up as he says: “I never thought that what we do together would go on as it has.”
While Jeremy addresses their epic final adventure in Zimbabwe, saying, “we really did save the best to last.”

The Grand Tour launched on Prime Video in 2016 and quickly became one of the streamer’s biggest hits as hosts Jeremy, 63, James, 60, and Richard, 52, felt it was time they move on from Top Gear hit the road.
They have now brought five epic series of motoring adventures to the small screen, each taking place in different locations and even featuring celebrity guests.

The trailer shows Jeremy, Richard and James enjoying some full circle moments in between some emotional scenes.
Set to the emotive tune of “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, it definitely tugs on viewers’ heartstrings.
In a heartfelt admission, Jeremy adds: “I shall miss doing this sort of thing.”
The series finale of The Grand Tour airs September 13 on Prime Video. All previous episodes are available to stream.
