Quarterback Josh Milani threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns in his first start for the Terra Linda High football team, a 28-8 win against Upper Lake at San Rafael High on Saturday night.
Milani completed 12 of 18 passes and connected for scores with Dimitri Kokalis, Cale Cizmadia, Santi Frias, and Mateo Pattani.
TL (1-0) trailed 8-7 early in the second quarter but seized control of the game with a pair of touchdowns in the final 6 minutes of the first half. The Trojans took a 21-8 lead into the locker room.
Milani and Pattani connected on a 70-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Pattani had three catches for 85 yards and added five solo tackles and three assisted tackles on defense. TL’s defense limited Upper Lake to 126 total yards.
Zeke Rodas led the way offensively for TL with 102 rushing yards.
San Rafael went 3-2 at the Rancho Cotate tournament on Saturday, rallying to take first place in the Silver Division bracket.
The Bulldogs’ losses came against St. Joseph Notre Dame and Bishop O’Dowd. San Rafael (9-5) picked up victories against Middletown, Washington (S.F.), and Rancho Cotate.
