An intriguing matchup of ranked welterweights serves as the UFC Fight Night 242 main event as former title challenger Gilbert Burns takes on Sean Brady.
Burns, No. 7 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie welterweight rankings, will attempt to snap a two-fight skid against Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. Burns (22-7 MMA, 15-7 UFC) hasn’t won since beating Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287 in April 2023.
No. 9 Brady (16-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) has lost only once in his career against Muhammad by standing TKO back in October 2022. He’s fought just once since then as he’s coming off a dominant submission win over Kelvin Gastelum last December at UFC on ESPN 52.
Heading into fight week, Brady is a moderately favored to win, with FanDuel listing him at -188. Burns comes back as a +146 underdog.
