A protest will be held on Sunday in front of the Presidential Palace calling for an end in Cyprus’ involvement in the Gaza crisis on World Peace Day.
The organisers said they are going “to protest the support and facilities that the government provides to the state of Israel to carry out genocide and perpetuate the occupation and the apartheid regime it imposes against the Palestinians”.
They are also protesting the use of Nato aircraft carriers, the facilities Cyprus gives to ships carrying fuel to the Israel Air Force, the military alliance between Cyprus and Israel and the joint drills.
Protesters are also standing against the commercial exchanges with the state of Israel and in particular the energy partnership in hydrocarbon extraction and electricity interconnection The protest will begin at 6.30pm at the car park of the interior ministry.
