TOPEKA (KSNT) - The inaugural Gage Park Founders Fest took place Saturday, August 31. Hosted by Shawnee County Parks and Rec, the event offered free train and carousel rides and more.
In honor of Guildford Gage, the day was all about giving back, just like Mr. Gage who donated all the land to make the park possible.
"Mr. Gage was willing to donate all of this land that the zoo and Gage Park and everything is on and we just wanted to do the same thing and give back," Sean Zears with Shawnee County Parks and Rec. said.
Zears also says they look forward to continuing founders fest for years to come, but at this time do not have a date set for next year.
