My skin freaks out between summer & fall but I found the best ‘no-frills’ routine – a $22 serum brightens my dark spots

One woman figured out a foolproof way to keep her skin looking good and well-adjusted to her regimen.
Redditor Seulgih shared her routine in a post on the social media platform.
“My skin usually freaks out a little during the transitionary periods between summer and fall, and I used to dread the breakouts that happen right about now,” she said.
She added that her method is straightforward and practical.
“Here’s a skincare routine that’s given me the best skin of my life in a while,” she said.
“No frills, it’s my introduction into retinol, too.
“As a woman on the cusp of 30 I want to make sure I start incorporating retinol in my routine.
“I have dry skin and my top concerns are anti-aging and dryness, hence the super-rich cream.”
THE VERDICT
She gave her take on several different types of skincare products, starting with a facial oil.
“My ride or die forever cleansing oil,” she said of DHC cleansing oil.
“It’s my all-time favorite, on the thicker side of cleansing oils, but I never need make-up remover since this gets everything off.”
She also recommended a cleanser she discovered during a stay in South Korea.
“I discovered this on a trip to Korea, and picked it up without much thought,” she said of Acwell cleansing gel.
“Turns out, it was a great choice for me.”
She added a drugstore staple for her retinol fix — a potent anti-aging product.

“It didn’t break me out and [it] caused no irritation,” she said of Cerave’s retinol serum.
“In fact, I think because it contains niacinamide as well, I’ve seen brightening effects on my freckles and dark spots.”
Despite not being a fan of eye creams, she included one in her regimen.
“I’m not a huge believer in eye cream but I did want a richer cream for my eyes when I was using a gel cream over the summer,” she said, referring to Cerave’s eye cream.
Finally, she uses a K-beauty favorite to seal the deal.
“My skin is very supple in the morning after I use this,” she raved.
