A prison inmate being treated at Athalassa psychiatric hospital has escaped.
Police have named him as Tolka Tongel, aged 40.
The escape was reported at 11am on Saturday, however the convict may have escaped earlier.
Reporter sources said central prison guards were responsible for guarding him, not the police.
The police are now searching for the escaped man, without any result so far.
