Although many of us saw cloudy skies for most of today, it was a very nice day. Humidity was fairly low and warm with a bit of a breeze out there. A great way to start the Labor Day Weekend!
Low temperatures tonight are in the low-mid 60s all around. Some places could cool down into the upper 50s making it another mild night. Tomorrow to start our Saturday we could be getting some early morning showers, and then there could be a chance of a storm in the afternoon. However, the majority of the storms are expected to arrive later tomorrow evening.
Looking into tomorrow, we have a system that'll be coming from the northwest, likely providing some early showers to those a bit more northwest of Albany. Then we'll start to clear away from that boundary by Sunday night, only to be met with this surge of cooler air that will start to move down into New England by Labor Day.
Futurecast shows the timing of tomorrow's showers and storms to be more on-and-off. Not a total washout, many of us will see some dry time, particularly south of Albany is looking a bit drier for most of the day. Tomorrow morning many will see showers but can't rule out a chance to see an isolated storm. Then towards the afternoon, some more showers, and again, could hear some thunder rumbling between the afternoon and evening. We could see some more storm activity in the later evening into Sunday, where many of us could have some gustier conditions and also some heavier rain.
The storm potential for tomorrow places many of us in the slight risk areas (specifically, Albany west of the Hudson and south of the southern Adirondacks), while the rest are at a marginal risk of seeing some evening storms. Some of these could be severe, and the parameters show we could have some heavier rain and gustier winds later into tomorrow night.
Temperatures for tomorrow are going to be warmer than they were today, and warmer on Sunday. Creeping up into the low-mid 80s which also means that humidity is going to creep up for the weekend, but then Monday...temperatures and humidity will plummet for a more "fall-like" feel.
Tonight we're clouding up, could see a shower more north and west by morning. Tomorrow it'll be muggy, not the best day to be outside and barbeque, especially since we could be seeing some evening thunderstorms that linger into later tomorrow night.
On Labor Day watch the temperature drop significantly into the low 70s as that cool pocket of air starts to sweep in. This'll keep the temperatures on the lower side and then we will start to warm up a bit by the middle of next week. Overall, not looking like an entirely wet rest of next week but next weekend...could be filled with showery conditions.
