PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman who is accused of animal neglect appeared in court Friday after 13 dogs and 2 cats were seized from her property earlier this week, authorities said.
Susan Long, 51, was charged with 15 counts of felony second-degree animal neglect, the Multnomah County District Attorney's office said.
The animals on her property in the Lents Neighborhood were seized on Tuesday by authorities after "multiple complaints of malnourished animals and hazardous living conditions."
The warrant was executed by the Portland Police Bureau, the DA's office and with the assistance of Multnomah County Animal Services and the Oregon Humane Society.
"All seized animals are safely housed within MCAS and The Oregon Humane Society," the DA's office said in a release on Friday.
Long is currently not allowed to possess any animals, officials said.
No other details were immediately available.
