TOPEKA (KSNT) - Another man is being charged with murder in relation to an April shooting in south Topeka.
On Aug. 29, 2024, 24-year-old Michael DeLance Allen has been charged in relation to a shooting that happened earlier this year, according to a news release from the Shawnee County District Attorney's office. Allen was charged with the following:
Allen is the third person the DA's office has charged in connection to this shooting. Kavshun J. Boykin, 26, was arrested April 26, 2024 in connection to the murder, and Lolita L. Bradford, 25, was arrested April 30, 2024.
Just before 8 a.m. Friday morning, April 26, Topeka police responded to a reported shooting at the 3700 block of Southwest Park South Court.
Once officers arrived, they located one individual suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The person was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Topeka police announced in a press release the victim of the deadly shooting was Cody P. Cooper, 22, of Topeka. This is the fifth homicide investigation of 2024.
