It seems that the Kansas City BFFs have “an unspoken rule” they are abiding by, according to the Daily Mail. “Brittany knew better than to discuss politics” at Swift’s Newport, Rhode Island estate for Blake Lively’s birthday weekend. “It was an unspoken rule for everyone to avoid politics at Taylor’s home in Rhode Island,” a source divulged. “The topic was off limits.” Apparently, Swift does not want “to be written into this anti-Brittany narrative because they have made a pact to not discuss politics.” They are going to respect their opposing views.
Mahomes caught some heat for liking Donald Trump’s Instagram post that shared his 2024 GOP Platform. She fought back on her Instagram Story letting her followers know that it’s OK to have friends in other political parties. “Contrary to the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind,” she posted. Swift and Mahomes’ decision to keep politics off the table is likely why she and her boyfriend Travis Kelce didn’t make a big deal out of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s May commencement speech that many people found to be misogynistic.
Kelce shared on his May 24 New Heights podcast, “When it comes down to his views and what he said at Saint Benedict’s commencement speech, those are his. I can’t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it outside of just him loving his family and his kids. And I don’t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life, that’s just not who I am.” He praised Butker for being a “cherished teammate” and appreciated his own Cleveland Heights upbringing for showing him “a broad spectrum, just a broad view of a lot of different walks of life.”
