ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Albany Police announced that a Rensselaer woman was arrested after a vehicular assault investigation on Thursday. Angel Vandebogart, 28, is facing multiple charges.
On August 29 around 7:30 a.m., police responded to Lexington Avenue near Central Avenue following reports of someone being hit by a car. Arriving officers determined that a 25-year-old man had allegedly been struck by Vandebogart's car intentionally before she fled the area.
The victim was tended to on the scene by emergency medical personnel before being taken to Albany Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The ensuing investigation resulted in Vandebogart being located in Troy, where she was taken into custody.
Vandebogart was charged with first-degree assault and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. She was arraigned at Albany City Criminal Court before being remanded to the Albany County Jail.
