According to Fussball Europa reporter Andre Oechsner, Barcelona sporting director Deco is keen to complete a deadline-day move for Sergio Reguilon.
The report backs up what we have heard from various sources over the last few days by stating that Reguilon, who is into the final year of his contract at Spurs, will leave before the transfer deadline after falling out of favour under Ange Postecoglou.
The report says that a late move to Barcelona is now on the cards for the former Real Madrid star after the Catalan club were offered a chance to sign the defender.
The transfer window slams shut at 11 pm this evening for most European countries, so Spurs and Barcelona would have to work quickly on a potential deal.
Oechsner adds that Deco has signalled a ‘fundamental interest’ in working with the Spain international.
However, with the clock now ticking, Barca are in a race against time to win the race for the full-back.
This report comes a day after Football Insider claimed on Thursday that Premier League sides as well as La Liga clubs had shown interest in a late deal for Reguilon.
Spurs Web Opinion
Reguilon likely wants to return to La Liga but I am not sure he will be too keen on making a move to Barca as the 27-year-old will know that he will only be a backup at the Camp Nou.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in Turkey a few days after the English window closes.
