Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of domestic violence while in California’s Napa Valley, where his wife Nikki Bella also shared photos from hours earlier.
According to online jail records, Chigvintsev, 42, was arrested shortly before 10 AM and was booked on a felony domestic violence charge, per Variety. His bail was posted at $25,000.
A day before the arrest, Bella posted to her Instagram Story saying that she had gotten a facial in downtown Napa. It is unclear if she was involved in the incident that lead to Chigvintsev’s arrest.
In 2023, the couple showcased their $1.3 million Napa Valley home on an episode of MTV’s Cribs. “This is my wine country escape, sanctuary, my home,” Bella said in the episode, per Page Six. It appears that this is their primary residence.
The former WWE star, 40, and Chigvintsev started dating in 2018 after meeting on Dancing with the Stars a year earlier. They welcomed their son, Mateo, in 2020 and tied the knot in 2022.
Days before Chigvintsev’s arrest, on August 27, Bella posted a lengthy tribute to her husband on Instagram in celebration of their wedding anniversary.
“I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem,” she wrote after quoting lyrics from Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
“Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be.”
On his Instagram, Chigvintsev shared an anniversary post of his own, writing: “Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life with out you. You are my everything.”
