Minor League Recap for Thursday, August 29th, 2024
Kyle Manzardo had a double, a homer and a walk, Chase DeLauter had an inside-the-park homer and a walk, Juan Brito had two hits including a double and Johnathan Rodriguez had two hits including a double. Neither Triston McKenzie (5 innings pitched, 2 runs allowed, three strikeouts and two walks) or Peter Strzelecki (allowed four runs on four hits and a walk) looked particularly good in this one, but the Clippers found a way to win.
The Ducks managed to manufactr and their pitching, headed by five one-run innings from Tommy Mace and a spotless 9th from Bradley Hanner, made it stand up.
Angel Genao had a double and two walks, and Wuilfredo Antunez hit a two-run homer, but Steve Hajjar gave up a ton of runs in relief and it just got away from Akron.
The Hillcats relied on a triple from newcomer Ryan Cearini and four strikeouts from Caden Favors, but it wasn’t quite enough to match the Mudcats.
