An elderly couple and their dog have mysteriously vanished from a nudist ranch where they were living.
Police are searching for Stephanie Menard, 73, and her husband Daniel Menard, 79, who went missing from their home on the 26000 block of Keissel Road in Redlands, California.
They were last seen around 10am on Saturday and were reported missing by a friend, according to the Redlands Police Department on Facebook.
‘The Menards’ unlocked vehicle was located down the road from their residence the same day,’ wrote the police department.
‘Stephanie Menard’s purse was located inside of her residence along with her and Daniel’s cell phones.’
Their small white Shih Tzu, called Cuddles, also disappeared.
Daniel suffers from dementia and diabetes.
A friend, Tammie Wilkerson, said the couple resided at the Olive Dell nudist community and were very active within it and at their church. The Menards were reportedly part of a possible lawsuit against the nudist ranch.
Wilkerson added that she does not believe the couple could not have walked away from their car.
‘She has a cane. It was at home, her purse, their cellphones – things they would never have left at home,’ she told KABC.
‘They’re very sweet people. There’s not a mean bone in their body at all, which makes this very confusing.’
Another friend of them, Sandy Marinelli, told ABC: ‘Each day just gets longer and longer, and I get more and more worried.
‘There’s just nothing to go off of right now.’
Wilkerson said she has a bad feeling about the Menards’ return.
‘My gut feeling is that they’re not,’ she said.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact the police department.
The Menards vanished more than two years after an elderly couple traveling across the US in an RV vanished while in the desert in Nevada.
