STEPHEN Fry has agreed to take part in the celeb version of The Traitors.
The TV veteran was top of host Claudia Winkleman’s wishlist for the BBC’s backstabbing reality show.
Insiders told The Sun Blackadder comedy star Stephen, 67, was approached and said yes.
A source said: “Claudia put Stephen right at the top of celebs she’d want on The Traitors and Stephen has made it clear he’d be game.
“Stephen is a fan of the show and Claudia was desperate for him to be in it.
“No contracts have been signed yet — but he told the show’s bosses to name a time and date and he’ll be there.”
Others on Claudia’s wishlist for filming next year include Only Connect quiz host Victoria Coren Mitchell plus actors Adam Woodyatt and Andrew Garfield.
The Sun first revealed in January the Beeb had commissioned a celeb spin-off of its ratings hit.
It confirmed our story last week and said casting had started.
The second series of The Traitors attracted up to four million viewers a night, with more watching it on catch-up.
Insiders believe the celeb series could easily beat it.
One of them commented: “The Traitors has been a massive success for the BBC and the celebrity version of the show is going to make for stellar viewing.”
A BBC spokesman said: “We do not comment on speculation.”
