FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Thursday Afternoon,
It has been another very warm start to the day, with record warm temps out the door. The front from yesterday has meandered its way back north, and will allow for a few isolated showers maybe a rumble of thunder or two again this afternoon with highs in the middle 90s.
We will see even warmer conditions on Friday, with some chances of showers and storms later in the afternoon on Friday, with highs in mid to upper 90s. Showers should thin out for Football Friday Nite games, with temps still in the 80s generally during the games.
Our next stronger cold front will approach into Saturday, with scattered showers and storms possible Saturday morning, and into the afternoon with this slow moving front. Due to the fact that this front will be rather slow, we will have plenty of clouds on Saturday, and highs only in the middle 80s, still a degree or two above normal for this time of year.
Sunday skies will start to clear, with sunshine, and temps back into the mid to upper 80s. Expect a secondary, dry, cold front to push through Sunday into Monday, and this will bring a great day for Monday with highs in the lower 80s with sunny skies.
The forecast for next work week looks great to start, with sunshine, and temps in the low to mid 80s. The only downside, we need rain badly! We have some of the worst drought conditions in the state since records have been kept, including "exceptional drought" conditions recorded for the first time in the state in Athens county.
