Everton are set to give Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala today ahead of signing him on an initial loan deal, according to Sky Sports News.
The Merseyside outfit have been closing in on a deal to sign the former Nottingham Forest midfielder from Lyon.
The two clubs have a deal in place that would see Mangala join Everton on loan with the club holding an option to make the move permanent.
It emerged earlier today that Fiorentina are trying to hijack the deal and take the midfielder to Italy.
However, it seems Everton have averted any late hijack attempts as Mangala is scheduled to undergo a medical with the club later today.
It is unclear whether he will be flying out to England or Everton will put him through the checks in France.
But the Premier League club are progressing ahead with their pursuit of the Lyon midfielder this summer.
Everton are hopeful of sorting out his arrival at the club ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
