Leeds United v Hull CitySaturday 31st August@15:00hrs | Elland RoadHull City are the visitors to Elland Road on Saturday, with Leeds facing their second Yorkshire derby in seven days.
They produced their best performance of the season at Hillsborough last weekend, proving there's life after Rutter, despite his level of contributions last season. Belgium hotshot Largie Ramazani, and Israeli International Manor Solomon will go a long way to softening the blow, but only if Leeds can bring further in further reinforcements, before the transfer window slams shut!
The Tigers too have experienced significant upheaval this Summer. Tim Walter has replaced Liam Rosenior at the helm, and has had a complete clear out which has seen 18 players leave and 13 new faces arrive, including Cody Drameh and Liam Millar. Left-back Ryan Giles (£5.3m) and centre-half Charlie Hughes (£4.7m) have been drafted in to tighten up their leaky defence.
They concede at a rate of 1.54 expected goals per game, the fifth worst in the Championship, but are only one of nine teams not to lose yet (in the league) this season. They are expected to complete the signing of former Leeds stalwart Liam Cooper before Friday's deadline - how awkward is that going to be....
Leeds have no new injury concerns. Max Wober's calf injury is expected to miraculously clear up if interest from Borussia Mönchengladbach materialises. Largie Ramazani has received his work permit, and could start whilst Manor Solomon has a long way to go until he reaches full fitness.
