OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline is looking to help Oklahomans kick the bad habit of tobacco use, offering a limited-time offer of free nicotine replacement therapy.
Beginning September 1, those who have been looking to quit tobacco can sign up for Helpline services and receive an eight week free nicotine replacement therapy. The therapy includes patches, gum or lozenges.
Services are normally two weeks long but for a limited-time the OK Tobacco Helpline is offering it for at least eight weeks. The special offer runs through September 30.
“Quitting tobacco is one of the most impactful steps someone can make to improve their health,” said Julie Bisbee, TSET executive director. “We know additional nicotine replacement therapy increases the chances of successfully quitting, and this offer is a compelling reason for people to sign up now.”
The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline is a program of the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET).
Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline also provides free support to those registered with the program, wanting to quit tobacco, offering services such as live group sessions, emails, text, phone and coach support.
Keep a look out as Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline will be debuting a new stop-motion campaign, "Inside the Box." The campaign is expected to be aired statewide on TV and radio stations, including print and digital ads. It will show the journey of quitting tobacco by bringing forward the resources provided in the free 'Quit Kit.'
OK Tobacco Helpline says the kit provides hope by offering a path to reclaim health and to break free from tobacco addiction.
