Donald Trump's lawyer Todd Blanche suggested on Fox News that the latest superseding indictment from the Washington, D.C. grand jury comes directly from President Joe Biden.
Speaking to Gillian Turner, standing in for Martha MacCallum on Wednesday, Blanche explained that having special counsel Jack Smith refile the indictment, taking the Supreme Court's rulings into account, is a conspiracy.
"Is the former president going to show up in court to file a plea?" Turner asked.

"Well, we'll see. He's running for president. And he's working hard every day to go out and get his message to the American people. And I know that what this administration wants is to get him off the campaign trail and to have him show up in court," Blanche said.
His remarks come after Judge Tanya Chutkan told Trump's legal team he didn't have to appear in court to file the new plea. So, if Trump appears, it will be his personal decision.
Blanche admitted that Chutkan "excused him next week. I anticipate we'll work with him and — look, being charged with a crime is obviously something he takes seriously."
