NEW YORK (PIX11) – Dating in New York City can be challenging, but one Manhattan resident found love in Central Park.
A male coyote spotted in the famous park in 2019 now has a female companion, according to the Gotham Coyote Project.
The organization told Gothamist the coyote and his new girlfriend probably matched up late last year when the Coyote Project first spotted the female coyote.
Members made sure they weren't double-counting animals.
“Coyotes usually mate for life,” read a post on Wildlife NYC. “The peak mating season is in late winter, from January to March. Coyote pups are born approximately two months later, in April and May.”
So far, there are no signs of a den or pups, according to the Gotham Coyote Project.
