NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) --- New Yorkers have strong opinions about JFK Airport, but a new survey confirms some of their frustrations about the busy hub.
The airport ranks among the top five in the country for the longest wait in the TSA line at about 13 minutes, while the wait at LaGuardia and Newark airports is less than half of that, according to the survey.
Sundays are usually the busiest days at JFK, while passengers wait around 12 minutes in the TSA lines on Mondays, per the survey. Travelers in line between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. can wait almost 17 minutes.
"While this varies for each airport, the busiest day for security lines is Wednesday, and the quietest is Saturday. Around 6 a.m. is when you'll find the longest lines, with the average traveler waiting 13 minutes and four seconds," the survey found.
JFK came in fifth behind Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Charlotte airports.
