HUNTER, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Hunter Mountain announced the return of its annual fall celebration. For three weekends, Oktoberfest will return with activities for the whole family, starting Sept. 28.
Each weekend will include activities, a variety of food options including German options, beer tents and the option to ride the ski-lift to the 3,200-foot summit. The 2024 Oktoberfest will also feature the Doxie Derby, a Dachshund race.
Admission to the festival is free but special VIP packages are available for purchase on Hunter Mountain's website for $55. Local vendors will also be selling items for purchase as well.
Simultaneously, Hunter Mountain will be preparing for its ski and ride season. This season, Hunter Mountain is celebrating 65 years with new features.
For the 2024/2025 season, an additional 70 snow guns and two ski-lift upgrades, the Broadway Lift and the E Lift, will be added. These will allow the team to produce snow faster and increase uphill capacity, giving guests more time on the snow for all skill sets and levels.
