Drivers should prepare for additional traffic as construction kicks off next week on North DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
Planned resurfacing work will close some lanes in the evening, and all lanes overnight, between Hollywood and Lawrence avenues from Tuesday to Thursday, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.
The work continues resurfacing that was done in the spring. The city's fall resurfacing work is expected to be completed by late October.
Northbound work is planned for Tuesday evening, both north and southbound work on Wednesday, and southbound work on Thursday.
The full work schedule:
- Tuesday, Sept 3: Northbound DLSD reduces to two lanes at 7 p.m. between Hollywood and Lawrence avenues, with full closures beginning at 9 p.m. Northbound exit ramps close at Foster and Bryn Mawr. Northbound entrance ramps close at Lawrence, Foster and Bryn Mawr. Lanes reopen 6 a.m. the next morning.
- Wednesday, Sept. 4: Northbound and southbound DLSD reduces to two lanes at 7 p.m. between Hollywood to Foster avenues. Northbound Lawrence exit ramp closes, as well as northbound Bryn Mawr exit. Southbound entrance ramps close at Hollywood and Bryn Mawr. DLSD fully closes between Hollywood and Lawrence from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning.
- Thursday, Sept. 5: Southbound DLSD reduces to two lanes at 7 p.m. from Hollywood to Lawrence; full closure begins at 9 p.m. Southbound entrance ramps close at Hollywood, Bryn Mawr and Foster. Southbound exit ramp closes at Lawrence. Lanes reopen 6 a.m. Friday.
