Forgotten Oasis band member who featured in iconic Wonderwall video – with Noel sending him brutal message when he quit

A FORMER forgotten Oasis band member who featured in the iconic Wonderwall video received a brutal message from Noel after he decided to quit.

Oasis yesterday finally announced its reunion and confirmed the British and Irish tour dates of Oasis Live 25 – to the delight of fans.

Scott McLeod, a British bassist who is believed to be from Oldham, Greater Manchester, was a member of The Ya Ya’s and had a brief stint with Oasis in 1995 – including the iconic Wonderwall video.

He had replaced ex-member Paul McGuigan who left the popular band due to exhaustion as he had been on tour with the group for a long time.

Scott starred in the renowned Wonderwall music video which reached the No.2 spot in both UK and Ireland.

However, shortly after joining the group on tour, Scott unexpectedly left, flying back to England without warning after the band’s gig in Pittsburgh.

Scott later admitted that he called Noel to express his regret, and said that leaving Oasis was the wrong decision.

The lead guitarist replied: “I think you have too.

“Good luck signing on.”

Oasis fans have been searching for information on Scott ever since with online forums asking: “Where are you?”

This follows Oasis’ surprise announcement of their reunion, with a series of gigs scheduled for next year.

On Tuesday, band members Noel Gallagher, 57, and Liam Gallagher, 51, confirmed the domestic leg of Oasis Live 25 – alongside details of the venues and dates for the 14 scheduled gigs.

The news was hot on the heels of The Sun’s exclusive confirmation that the Wonderwall chart stars would play a whopping four shows at Wembley.

We previously told how their reunion was in the bag – with the Don’t Look Back In Anger hitmakers now confirmed to play a series of historic gigs in 2025, including in their native Manchester at Heaton Park.

In an emotional message on X, the band wrote: “This is it, this is happening,” before announcing their tour dates.

In a press release, they issued a stark warning to loyal fans who may be on the fence about battling the online queues for tickets.

Tickets for the UK dates go on sale from 9am on Saturday, August 31.

Dublin tickets will be available from 8am that same day.

Yet in a message to top loyal followers of the Fade Away hitmakers, they said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned.

“The great wait is over.

“Come see. It will not be televised.”

Tickets for the UK dates go on sale from 9am on Saturday, August 31st and will be available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk, www.gigsandtours.com and www.seetickets.com. Dublin tickets will be available from 8am that same day from www.ticketmaster.ie.

This means those who don’t bag a spot at the live dates in London, Dublin, Manchester, Edinburgh or Cardiff will miss out completely.

Although there is bound to be heaps of coverage and clips on social media, it won’t be the same as attending the live event.

It also shows how they won’t be following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, who linked up with Disney+ to showcase a gig from her sell-out The Eras Tour on the streaming service.

On their page on social media site X, Oasis told how they will kick off the gigs at Cardiff‘s Principality Stadium on July 4 and 5 before returning to home turf.

They will play Manchester‘s Heaton Park on July 11, 12, 19 and 20.

The rockers – who have bagged 10 UK number one albums between them – will head down south to London‘s Wembley Stadium on July 25 and 26, before picking up the tour there on August 2 and 3.

Next comes August 8 and 9 at Edinburgh, in the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, before August 16 and 17 gigs in Dublin, at Croke Park.

The shows are expected to rake in £400million for the much-loved rockers.

They both teased the announcement late on Sunday — when the band’s logo appeared on their social media with the date “27.08.24” flickering to read “8am”.

Insiders had told The Sun the warring brothers had secretly come together for a photoshoot which would be used to promote the gigs, which are a joint operation between promoters Live Nation and SJM.

It came after the Mancunian brothers ended their 19-year long feud.

Noel, 57, quit the band in 2009 saying he could no longer work with Liam, 51, yet the pair appear to have patched up their differences.

A music industry insider said this weekend: “Oasis’s comeback tour is going to be absolutely massive and next summer they’re going to be taking over the country.

“They have announced four shows at Wembley Stadium today, along with a load more dates across the whole of the UK — including in Manchester, which will be incredibly poignant for them.

“Live Nation and SJM have joined up on the project because it’s so enormous. In short, today there are going to be a ton of tickets available – Noel and Liam want everyone to have the chance to see them.”

The Sun confirmed yesterday that they were getting back together, with the shows expected to rake in £400million.

We also told how the project was given the thumbs up just seven weeks ago.

Liam and Noel, who have both been touring this year, secretly met for a photoshoot to accompany the posters which were released today.

The details of this under-cover get together have now come to light.

Our source added to us: “It was a pinch-me moment to have Noel and Liam together. It has taken a lot to get them to this point but they’re thinking of the fans.

“The shoot was top-secret and barely anyone knew about it. For their fans to see them together again will be an amazing sight, the atmosphere in the room was fizzing, it was electric.

“Once the announcement is made and their fans are rushing to buy the tickets, the hard work will start as they get ready to start performing together again.

“It’s something so many people never thought would happen.

“But now the brakes have been taken off and it’s going to be mad.”

Yet despite the comeback, it has been claimed the siblings are still “a long way off” being pals.

Who is in Oasis?

Oasis has had its fair share of band members over the years.

While the full line-up for the upcoming tour hasn’t been revealed yet, three legends are nailed on to perform.

The group announced their epic comeback on X/Twitter with a cheeky clip of Noel and Liam Gallagher kissing, both of whom will certainly be taking to the stage.

Guitarist Bonehead can also be seen in the 90-second video of past gigs — and it was confirmed he will join the band’s hugely anticipated 14-date tour.

The group began with five members when they formed in 1991 — the original line-up was Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs (guitar), Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan (bass), Tony McCarroll (drums), Noel (lead guitar and vocals) and Liam Gallagher (lead vocals).

McCarroll was replaced by Alan White in 1995, before Arthurs and McGuigan were replaced by Gem Archer and Andy Bell in 1999.

White was replaced by Zac Starkey in 2004, who was then succeeded by Chris Sharrock in 2008.

Following Oasis’ split in 2009, the remaining members of the band formed Beady Eye with Liam Gallagher, which disbanded in 2014.

As of August 28, it is not known who will join Liam, Noel and Bonehead on tour next year.
