A total of 132 chickens were killed after being attacked by dogs in a chicken coop near Lapithos, the Turkish Cypriot police announced on Wednesday.
The incident took place at around 7.30pm on Monday, with the police saying two dogs gained access to the coop before killing the chickens.
They added that the dogs were “under the responsibility” of a 52-year-old man, but that he had not obtained a dog licence.
As a result, they said, legal action had been initiated against him. Their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
