In the Delhi Premier League, pacer Aayush Thakur’s five wicket haul helped Purani Dilli 6 defeat North Delhi Strikers by 20 runs.
Aayush (5/27) caused chaos, destroying NDS’s best player as they were confined for 172/7 while pursuing 193.
In his opening over, Aayush got rid of opener Sarthak Ranjan for a duck.
In the third over, he came back to dismiss Yash Dabas, and in the fifth over, he removed Kshitiz Sharma.
Vaibhav Kandpal, the opener, and Yajas Sharma, the substitute, put together a 55-run partnership for the fourth wicket and appeared to be headed for the target until the latter was run out.
The task of pursuing the target was subsequently given to Kandpal and Vaibhav Rawal.
The pair began establishing boundaries on a regular basis while maintaining control over the run rate.
On the other hand, Rawal went out at a critical juncture, allowing Purani Dilli 6 to tie the score at 58 runs off of 32 balls.
However, Aayush quickly took action and removed Kandpal, who was crucial.
After taking five wickets, Aayush dismissed Pranshu for a duck.
Arpit Rana (42), the skipper of Purani Dilli 6, and Sanat Sangwan (47), put up an opening partnership of 94 runs earlier.
Sangwan was ejected by Manan Bhardwaj and had to travel back a long way when Rana returned to the pavilion.
Before Mayank Gusain (39), with the assistance of one boundary and five sixes, blasted away to 40 off only 12 balls, Arnav Bugga (39), and Lalit Yadav (9) cobbled together a 38-run partnership.
