COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Columbus firefighters have called in federal investigators to assist with what they referred to as an "explosive event" on the city's South Side.
The Columbus Division of Fire sent firefighters around 1:20 p.m. to a report of a car fire in the 2300 block of South 6th Street. When they arrived, they found an explosion had gone off in a pickup truck at the scene, according to CFD Chief Jeffrey Geitter. The explosion did not result in any injuries.
Geitter said there was no known threat to residents in the area as of 5 p.m., but that he had called members of the ATF and FBI to the scene to assist.
