Enter the ocean at your own risk. A massive great white shark recently attempted to take a bite out of the side of a fisherman’s boat in a newly-released online video.
The video looks like a scene straight out of the 1975 classic Jaws. A massive great white shark approaches a fisherman’s boat off Sunshine Coast, a beach town in Australia known for its resorts and water sports.
Commonly called "white pointers" in Australia, the great white proceeds to try to take a bite out of the side of the boat.
“By far the biggest shark I’ve seen in my life! Easy 5m great white shark has a little taste test of the Renegade," said Jayden Grace, along with his friend Joe Cook, according to 10 First News.
The video then shows spectacular underwater shots of the great white, as it remains near for several moments, before it swims off in another direction. The shark’s bite left a distinct mark on the side of the fisherman’s boat.

While the video may cause some to rethink their time spent in the ocean, it's important to remember that shark attacks are extremely rare. On average, there are fewer than 10 deaths globally each year due to shark attacks.
