Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Manor Solomon has completed a season-long loan move to Leeds United.
Manor Solomon, who arrived at Spurs on a free transfer last summer, only made six first-team appearances for the North London club before his season was ended by an injury.
The winger might have hoped to stake a claim for a place in the side this season but his chances of doing so appeared slim, with Ange Postecoglou having an abundant of options in the wide areas, particularly after the arrival of Wilson Odobert from Burnley.
Solomon has thus headed out on loan to Elland Road for the upcoming season, with the winger set to aid Leeds’ quest to bounce back up to the Premier League.
The winger will want to prove his fitness and will be hoping to impress Posetecoglou as well as any potential suitors ahead of next summer as he looks to get his career back on track.
A statement on the official Spurs site read: “Manor Solomon has joined Championship side Leeds United on loan for the 2024/25 season.
“Signed in the summer of 2023, the winger appeared six times for us at the start of his first season, five in the Premier League, where he picked up two assists, before a knee injury ended his campaign early.
“Formerly with Fulham and Shakhtar Donetsk, Manor worked hard to recover from surgery and returned to action this pre-season, making appearances in friendlies against Hearts, QPR and Vissel Kobe.”
Spurs Web Opinion
This is a good move for Solomon as his priority would have been to play week-in, week-out and get some minutes into his legs.
Since Daniel Farke’s side will dominate possession in most of their games and look to play their football in the opposition half, the 25-year-old will get an opportunity to express himself in the final third.
