Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala will undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of joining Everton on an initial loan deal this week.
The former Nottingham Forest midfielder has emerged as a key target for Everton in the final days of the ongoing summer transfer window.
Sean Dyche has been keen to add to his midfield options and the club are now close to agreeing on a deal to take Mangala to Goodison Park this summer.
A deal is in place for the midfielder to join Everton on an initial loan deal and the negotiations are progressing at a rapid pace.
According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Mangala will be put through a medical by Everton on Wednesday ahead of his proposed switch.
Once he passes a medical, he will sign a contract with Everton and complete the formalities of the loan switch.
The Premier League side also hold an option to make the move permanent for a fee of £50m as part of the loan deal with Lyon.
The Belgian, who had a stint in the Premier League with Forest, is now on the verge of returning to the English top flight.
