1. State Police: Fatal crash in Brunswick under investigation
State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the town of Brunswick on Friday. Troopers responded to the scene on Friday at around 11:37 a.m. for reports of a two-car crash with severe injuries on Tamarac Road.
2. Water main break in Rotterdam leads to road closure, boil water advisory
The town of Rotterdam has issued a boil water advisory for Curry Road between Altamont Avenue and Duglin Avenue as well as all of Duglin Avenue. Bring your water to a full boil for at least one minute and let it cool before using, or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Health Department.
3. One arrested after brawl with baseball bats at Dick’s in Latham
A Colonie man was arrested on Saturday following an investigation into a fight at Dick’s House of Sport in Latham, according to Colonie Police. Kyle Fowlkes, 19, is facing multiple charges.
4. Albany Med, NYSNA meet amid ongoing contract negotiations
Albany Medical Center and the New York State Nursing Association participated in a meeting on Monday. Nurses at Albany Med are demanding a fair contract from the healthcare provider.
5. Free community college program begins in Massachusetts
Student debt plagues million of people across the country, but many states are working to eradicate it. Massachusetts is the most recent state to implement a free community college program for residents to take advantage of.
