SIR Keir Starmer will today vow to clean up Britain just like communities cleaned up after the recent riots.
He will use a speech in the Rose Garden at No10 to hammer “14 years of rot” under the Tories.
The PM will put himself at the service of workers in the speech to nurses, teachers, firefighters and small business bosses.
He will say: “This government won’t always be perfect, but I promise this: you will be at the heart of our government and in the forefront of our minds, at the centre of everything we do.”
Praising communities that pulled together after the wave of summer unrest, the PM will say: “I thought about the obvious parallels.
“Imagine the pride we will feel as a nation when, after the hard work of clearing up the mess is done, we have a country we have built together. Built to last.”
Sir Keir will launch a fresh onslaught on Tory sleaze, highlighting the Rose Garden as a scene of lockdown gatherings.
The attack is thought to try to pave the way for tax rises at the Budget and seek to justify scrapping universal winter fuel payments for pensioners.
The PM will add: “We’ll level up workers’ rights. We’ll strengthen our border security. We’ll crack down on crime.
“We will do the hard work to root out 14 years of rot and reverse a decade of decline.”
Tory chair Richard Fuller said: “This is nothing but a performative speech to distract the public from the promises Starmer made that he never had any intention of keeping.”
