Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan are “definitely” over — but it’s unclear whether that’s just for now or forever.
The 25-year-old “Espresso” singer and 31-year-old “Saltburn” star have “definitely broken up” after recent “arguing,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
However, they say the door remains open for reconciliation, with a source telling the outlet “there’s a chance they will get back together eventually.”
The news comes amid days of speculation that the sultry songstress and Oscar nominee had officially called it quits — despite having never fully defined the “on and off” relationship.
For much of the year, the pair have made headlines as Irish actor supported Carpenter’s opening acts at Taylor Swift’s international Eras Tour shows and they posed together at the Met Gala in May.
In June, Keoghan starred as the love interest in the music video for Carpenter’s track “Please Please Please,” which he’s also believed to have inspired, given the lyrics: “I heard that you’re an actor / So act like a stand up guy.”
Asked by Rolling Stone in an interview published that month whether Keoghan was indeed her boyfriend, Carpenter mused, “How do I skirt around this question?”
Though she remained coy, she did acknowledge the public’s interest in her love life.
“Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can’t be so surprised that people are interested in who and what those songs are about,” she said.
