The Rapid Product Development Association of South Africa (RAPDASA) announced on Monday that the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) had approved funding for the fourth phase of the Collaborative Programme in Additive Manufacturing (CPAM). Additive manufacturing (AM) is popularly known as 3D printing, and RAPDASA is the representative body for the AM sector in South Africa. The CPAM was first launched ten years ago, in 2014/15, and actually preceded the publication of the South African Additive Manufacturing Strategy. The DSI both commissioned the strategy and has always funded the CPAM.
