Fans were left fearing that she might end up leaving Coronation Street for good after she shared that she is taking a sabbatical from the show this summer.
But during her recent interview with Alan Titchmarsh, the 78-year-old actress opened up about her ongoing role on the soap.

Chaos ensued in Evelyn’s life after Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) was introduced to the cobbles.
Cassie turned out to be Evelyn’s estranged daughter and Tyrone’s biological mother, which caused a shake up in the Plummer family.
Evelyn is also at the center of another dramatic plot involving Tyrone’s former flame, Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), who has returned to the scene with a shocking revelation about Tyrone’s son, Dorin.
As Alina faces threats from gangsters connected to a trafficking ring, she seeks refuge by asking Tyrone and Fiz to care for Dorin temporarily, adding even more tension to the household.
