New Delhi: Pakistan’s bid for a win in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle was thwarted on Sunday when Bangladesh secured a 10-wicket victory in the series opener in Rawalpindi. This landmark win marked Bangladesh’s first-ever Test triumph over Pakistan, either home or away. With the visitors now leading 1-0 in the two-match series, the decider will be played at the same venue starting August 30.
Later, in a video from the match, captain Shan Masood and primary bowler Shaheen Afridi showed them together in a huddle, which soon went viral with people starting to guess about the unrest in Pakistan cricket. Here, Shaheen was seen standing next to Shan. In no time, he took gestures to detach Shan’s holding hands and put them off his shoulder.

This video surfaced a day after another clip showing Shan Masood in a heated discussion with head coach Jason Gillespie circulated on social media.
In a historic match, Bangladesh secured their first-ever Test victory over Pakistan, thanks to outstanding performances from spinners Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan. Mehidy delivered a decisive 4-21, while Shakib contributed with 3-44, causing Pakistan to collapse for 146 runs in just 55.5 overs on the fifth day.
With only 30 runs required for victory, Bangladesh’s openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam swiftly achieved the target in 6.3 overs. Mohammad Rizwan, who top-scored for Pakistan with 51 runs and six boundaries, saw his team in a precarious position at 108-6 by lunch.
Despite hopes from a holiday crowd of nearly 5,000 that Pakistan might salvage a draw, Mehidy dismissed Rizwan and trapped last man Mohammad Ali for a duck in consecutive overs. Zakir, with 15 runs, hit the winning boundary, while Shadman remained unbeaten on nine, celebrating a landmark win for Bangladesh.
