I am often asked how I came to support Bobby Kennedy (RFK Jr.). The answer is: circuitously.
If you have read my book (panam.captain), you might recall that Bobby’s late uncle, John F. Kennedy, visited my family’s Cape Cod house to discuss the redesign of the White House Rose Garden with my stepmother. She, in turn, became close friends with Jackie Kennedy. The assassination of JFK, of course, was a huge shock to everyone. I was 21 years old and sensed at the time that this single event would lead to the slow decline of our great nation.
Bobby has taken a difficult and courageous turn … teaming up with Donald Trump (who I have also supported) to end the Democrat Nightmare.
And yet, the assassination of JFK’s dear brother, Robert F. Kennedy, five years later was no less heart-wrenching. For me, it had an additional meaning, as I had graduated from Milton Academy in Massachusetts, the same school attended by RFK. I took it upon myself to contribute to the school to establish a scholarship in his name, to specifically benefit underprivileged students. I still keep the thank-you note that Bobby’s widow, Ethel Kennedy, sent me.
Fast forward several decades and along comes … COVID. Operation Warp Speed to immediately develop a vaccine actually scared me. I could not fathom how a “vaccine” could be foisted on the general public with so little (if any) adequate testing. I refused the jabs, even against the advice of four doctors and dentists. I started reading a lot, and soon came across the Children’s Defense Fund. CDF seemed to have the same inclinations. I sent the group a donation immediately, and received a nice thank-you note from Bobby.
Sometime later, Bobby asked to meet for lunch and we met in Centerbrook, Connecticut, for that purpose. It became immediately apparent that we agreed on many more issues than just the COVID problem, especially corruption in government and the ongoing decline of our democratic institutions. I should add that I never caught COVID, primarily, I assume, because in early 2021 I started taking Ivermectin as a prophylactic guard against the parasite-like spike proteins.
Bobby’s announcement in February 2023 to run for president caught my attention. I found it compelling: I subsequently contributed to the American Values 2024 PAC. The manner in which his campaign was treated by the Democratic Party I find atrocious. The manner he has been denied Secret Service protection by the Biden regime up until recently is even more so. The lies and half-truths foisted on him and his campaign by the Mainstream Media Minions are beyond the pale, as has been the lawfare to keep him off the ballot in many states.
It became clear that the Democrats are scared stiff of this guy. Bobby Kennedy Jr. threatens to upend their slow Drang Nach Tyrannei and return democracy to its pre-Lyndon Johnson system of values and priorities. He also threatens the cozy relationship between Big Pharma and the regulators. He threatens the Defense Establishment based on cozy connections between the government and defense contractors. Don’t we remember President Dwight Eisenhower’s forewarnings?
And now, Bobby has taken a difficult and courageous turn by suspending his campaign and teaming up with Donald Trump (who I have also supported) to end the Democrat Nightmare that has been the Biden-Harris imbroglio. Smart move. If he is offered a position of authority in a Trump administration, I believe he will be able to “clean house” in an effective and fair way. God knows, there is plenty to do.
What happens next, we shall see. But this I can say for now: It has been an honor to know this fine gentleman.
(P.S. Oh, did I mention the oysters? Bobby and his wife Cheryl came to lunch at our house in Rhode Island. Knowing of his fondness for oysters, we ordered six dozen from Providence Oyster Bar. I ate eight, my wife ate six, Cheryl declined. Bobby ate the rest. What a mensch!)
