Ben Affleck May Be the One Stopping His & Jennifer Lopez’s Blended Family From Bonding Amid Divorce
It seems that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce is already getting messy, and now, it’s seemingly affected their blended family in more ways than one.
Earlier this month, insiders claimed that Affleck allegedly had an “open door policy” for Lopez’s twins Max and Emme when it comes to his new home, and that he’s a “family man” again. However, close sources told People it may be a different story behind the scenes.
In fact, those sources claim that Affleck has more or less not spoken to Lopez’s kids since their separation.
“[Jennifer] went out there and told the world what a great dad he was,” the source said to the outlet, saying that despite this, Affleck “has not been in touch with her kids.”
“The fact that he has not seen her kids in a long time, it’s like he left, but she is especially close to his kids,” the source added.
So, now we’re hearing two sides of a story, and many are wondering how the blended family is actually doing amid Affleck and Lopez’s divorce.
For those who don’t know, Garner and Affleck welcomed three children, and Lopez was their stepmother. Their kids are named Violet, born on Dec 2005, Seraphina born on Jan 2009, 15, and Samuel, born on Feb 2012.
Lopez is the mother to twins Emme and Max, born in Feb 2008, with whom she welcomed with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
As for Affleck and Lopez’s romance, they fell in love on the set of the film Gigli. They appeared in a couple more projects together, and got engaged by the end of 2002, per People. In 2003, they postponed their wedding and then broke up days before, due to the paparazzi and pressure they faced, and were broken up by 2004.
Fast forward to 2021, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance. A year later, they got engaged and married in a lavish ceremony. After months of speculation, per TMZ, Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20, noting the date of separation is April 26, 2024.
