Developed by Governor Charles Trevelyan in his brief tenure in 1859-60, People’s Park spanned 116 acres and featured 12 ponds and 5.5 miles of roads. Over the years, it lost parts of its space to various facilities. Now it covers just 5 acres that is badly maintained
