PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Temperatures will slowly warm up as we wrap up the weekend along with drier and sunnier skies come Sunday while our daytime highs return to the upper 70s.
As we keep with the pleasant and mild conditions through this weekend, hopefully you can get out and enjoy these below-normal afternoon highs! For late August Portland typically sees 81 degrees for its daytime high.
Not only have we had much cooler temps, but this month has also been on the wetter side just a tad.
Thanks to Friday's rainfall, we are now slightly above normal for the total average rainfall in the month of August, which we know is always great news during wildfire season.
And if you've been wishing for more summer heat, you're in luck! We will see our temperatures rise late next week.
The metro area is expected to hover right around 90 degrees by Thursday. So be ready to go from mid-70s on Tuesday to hitting 90 on Friday.
This warmer trend comes just in time for Labor Day weekend. As you start planning those BBQs, keep in mind, we'll be a bit toasty in the afternoons next weekend.d
